Washington County Ohio

Washington County, originally about one-half the Northwest Territory now included in the State of Ohio, was established by proclamation of Arthur St. Clair, Governor of the Northwest Territory, on July 26, 1788. The county has long been a leader in the manufacturing, financial, and medical fields.

From the growth of manufacturing operations after the Second World War to the rise of polymers, plastics, and resin industries in the early 1980s, the county has been home to some of the most successful, fastest-growing companies in the world. Their continued presence has helped cultivate a varied and highly skilled workforce.
