SUMMARY:Monroe County Transportation Advisory Committee & Coordinated Transportation Plan Review
DESCRIPTION:The Monroe County Transportation Advisory Committee will meet on Wednesday\, May 22\, 2024\, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Generations Complex\, 47115 Black Walnut Parkway in Woodsfield. This will be followed by a public meeting from 10:00 a.m. to noon to review the Monroe County Coordinated Transportation Plan and gather community feedback. \nAs a requirement for Federal Transit Authority (FTA) and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) funding\, the purpose of the Coordinated Transportation Plan is to identify community resources for transportation and mobility\, understand the gaps and unmet needs within those resources\, and determine the approach to addressing those gaps and unmet needs. Federal law requires these plans to be developed and approved through a process that includes participation by seniors\, individuals with disabilities\, representatives of public\, private\, and nonprofit transportation and human services providers\, and other members of the public. \nBuckeye Hills Regional Council serves as the Regional Transportation Planning Organization and Mobility Management agency for Monroe County. DESCRIPTION:Village CEO Appointment Meeting \nThe District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) will hold its Village CEO Appointment Meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday\, May 22\, 2024\, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council.  The purpose of this meeting is to appoint one village representative and two alternates to serve on the District 18 Public Works Integrating Committee. Those appointed will finish the term with an expiration of May 20\, 2027. \nOf the 28 members of the Integrating Committee\, three persons are appointed by the majority of the CEOs of villages to represent the interests of the villages throughout the 10-county district. District 18 is comprised of Athens\, Belmont\, Hocking\, Meigs\, Monroe\, Morgan\, Muskingum\, Noble\, Perry\, and Washington counties. At least one of the three CEOs will be appointed to serve on the 11-member Executive Committee. Any CEO wishing to have a voice in the State Capital Improvement Program/Local Transportation Improvement Program (SCIP/LTIP) Issue 2 process is encouraged to attend and vote. \nTrustee Appointment Meeting \nThe District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission will hold its Trustee Appointment Meeting at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday\, May 22\, 2024\, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council.  The purpose of this meeting is to appoint one township trustee representative and two alternates to serve on the District 18 Public Works Integrating Committee. Those appointed will finish the term with an expiration of May 20\, 2027. \nOf the 28 members of the Integrating Committee\, three persons are appointed by the majority of the township trustees to represent the interests of the townships throughout the 10-county district. District 18 is comprised of Athens\, Belmont\, Hocking\, Meigs\, Monroe\, Morgan\, Muskingum\, Noble\, Perry\, and Washington Counties. At least one of the three trustees will be appointed to serve on the 11-member Executive Committee. Any trustee wishing to have a voice in the SCIP/LTIP (Issue 2) process is encouraged to attend and vote. \nFiscal Year 2025 (Round 38) Executive Committee \nThe District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2025 (Round 38) Executive Committee will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday\, May 22\, 2024\, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council.  The purpose of this meeting is to review the Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Evaluation Criteria prior to submission to the OPWC Integrating Committee for their approval and to appoint/re-appoint members to the Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC). \nFiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Integrating Committee \nThe District 18 Ohio Public Works Commission Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Integrating Committee will meet at 10:30 am on Wednesday\, May 22\, 2024\, at Buckeye Hills Regional Council.  The purpose of this meeting is to appoint Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Integrating Committee Members to the Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Executive Committee\, appoint Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Small Government Committee members\, appoint Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) officers and approve the Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) timetable and methodology. \nImmediately following the Integrating Committee meeting\, the Fiscal Year 2026 (Round 39) Executive and Small Government committees will meet to elect officers. \nThe District 18 Integrating Committee is a 28-member body of elected officials with an 11-member Executive Committee responsible for making decisions in prioritizing infrastructure projects submitted for funding under the State Capital Improvement and Local Transportation Improvement Programs. \nQuestions regarding this program should be directed to Jada Riley\, Development Specialist III/District 18 Liaison\, at jriley@buckeyehills.org or 740-376-7636.
