Aging in Today’s Appalachia brings together community leaders, home- and community-based service providers, and practitioners for a day of in-depth discussions and presentations.
From budget and policy to advocacy to broadband, this one-day event will feature an overview of current challenges and innovative solutions while highlighting real work being accomplished on the ground to improve the lives of older adults in Southeast Ohio.

- 10:00 a.m.: Ohio Budget and Policy Lookahead, featuring Beth Kowalczyk, Chief Policy Officer, Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and Tom Pappas, President & CEO Thomas P. Pappas & Associates
- 11:00 a.m.:Collaborative Teamwork Can Improve the Response to Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation, featuring Sylvia Pla-Raith, Director, Elder Justice Unit of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office
- 12:00 p.m.: Lunch
- 12:30 p.m.: Effective Communication Strategies, featuring Ginger Gagne, Program Manager for the Southeast Ohio region of the Alzheimer’s Association
