Older American’s Act Requirements

The Older Americans Act (OAA), supports a range of home- and community-based services, such as nutrition programs, in-home services, transportation, legal services, and caregiver support. These programs help seniors stay as independent as possible in their homes. The intent of the OAA is to promote the dignity of older adults by providing the services and support that enable them to remain independent and engaged citizens within their communities.

The OAA Nutrition Program includes the following services:

  • Procuring for Person Direction
  • Congregate Dining Projects
  • Home Delivered Meals Projects
  • Congregate Projects Based in Restaurants and Grocery Stores
  • Nutrition Counseling
  • Grocery Shopping Assistance
  • Grocery Ordering and Delivery
  • Dietary Guidelines
