Mental Health First Aid Training in Belle Valley

October 24 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Older Adults and a care provider having a discussion at a table.

Buckeye Hills Regional Council is offering free Mental Health First Aid training across Southeast Ohio in September and October 2024. Mental Health First Aid training teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses.

By becoming certified through this evidence-based, early intervention training program, you can improve the quality of life for older adults and learn how to assist and support those who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Older adults have high rates of late-onset mental health challenges, like anxiety and depression, and low rates of identification and treatment. This program is made possible through a grant from the Ohio Department of Aging.
