Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSU)
Description
The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) Environmental Medicine and Health Systems Intervention Section to maintain and strengthen the Pediatric Environmental Health Unit (PEHSU) program as a network of experts providing evidence-based scientific and medical information and consultative advice on health issues that arise from environmental exposures throughout the vulnerable stages of reproduction and pediatric development. 1. Education of healthcare professionals; 2. Education of and outreach to communities; 3. Consultations; 4. Referrals; 5. Partnerships. Indents to build upon recipient that will manage day-to-day operations of the national PEHSU network. The recipient will work collaboratively with each regional PEHSU to maintain and strengthen effectiveness of the PEHSU network, execute program strategies, and achieve desired outcomes.
