Recovery Resource Website Connecting Community

February 11, 2021

Buckeye Hills Regional Council and Opioid Resource Navigator Brandi Beaver have expanded an addiction resource website that launched last fall. “MyRecoveryLink.org” serves as a tool for those suffering from substance use disorder as well as family members affected by the disorder residing in Monroe, Morgan, Noble, and Washington counties.

“It has been very rewarding to help gather resource information from our four-county operating region to help better our community and provide support where needed,” Brandi Beaver stated. “I’ve already heard positive remarks from the community on how helpful this website has been and my hope is more individuals will learn about the resources available and be able to find the help they need.”

This website covers a number of different resources, support meetings, and provides an extensive list of facilities that serve southeast Ohio. Although the website is meant to assist individuals in their recovery journey, it features a wide range of resources beneficial to anyone. Food banks, education, legal support, mental health, and more are all available in one helpful online directory.

“Recovery is difficult, and often times it becomes overwhelming for an individual seeking help. Our website is designed to eliminate some of the stressors one might face by providing information in one place,” said Beaver.

Beaver recently conducted a focus group made up of individuals in various roles in the recovery community, to get input and feedback on how the website could better serve them.

“I polled several people that had some sort of role within the recovery community to make sure that the website was best suited to fit their needs. Some were in active addiction, in recovery, working in recovery, or just knew of a friend or family member struggling with addiction,” Beaver stated. “Each person provided helpful feedback that was then used to further update and change the website to work for the individuals who will be using it.”

Questions about the website and updates to resource information can be sent to Beaver at bbeaver@buckeyehills.org. There is also a “Contact” section on the website to submit new resources for approval. Being featured on the website is at no cost to organizations and simply made available to better assist the community.
