Buckeye Hills is continuing to monitor updates and have conversations with our agency partners concerning the federal Office of Management and Budget’s January 27 memo concerning the “Temporary Pause of Federal Agency Grant, Loan, And Financial Assistance Programs.”
Yesterday, a federal judge in Washington, DC, temporarily ordered the pause to be lifted until at least Monday, February 3, when a full hearing will occur as to whether the pause is permissible under federal administrative procedure laws. The pause was to go into effect at 5:00 p.m., January 28, but this is now temporarily on hold.
Based on updated guidance from the White House and our recent conversations with state and federal partners, it is our understanding that Buckeye Hills Regional Council’s programs and services would be largely unaffected by the pause.
At this time, we do not foresee any interruptions in the services or programs Buckeye Hills administers to serve our region. We understand the concern and uncertainty many of our partners and providers have experienced over the past several days. If you still have specific questions about a particular program or service, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff.
Please note that the timeline and scope of the memo may be updated further as the process works through the courts and the White House and federal agencies share additional guidance. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
