Michelle Hyer has been a member of the Buckeye Hills Regional Council team since 1996. She began her career as a part-time secretary and, through nearly three decades of dedicated service, advanced through several roles before joining the Development Department in the early 2000s.
In 2026, Michelle was promoted to Development Director, leading the agency’s Development Department and overseeing a team of Development Specialists who provide technical assistance and funding support to communities across southeastern Ohio. She is responsible for the strategic direction and administration of several key programs, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), OneOhio, Economic Development Administration (EDA), Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), and Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). She also oversees Buckeye Hills’ Housing Coordinator, who administers the Area Agency on Aging’s home modification program.
Michelle holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Washington State College of Ohio. She lives in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with her husband and son.
