Michelle Hyer

Development Director

Michelle Hyer has been with Buckeye Hills Regional Council since 1996. She began her career as a part-time secretary and went on to hold several positions before joining the Development Department in the early 2000’s.

In 2026 she was promoted from Program Manager to Development Director and oversees the operations of Buckeye Hills’ Development Department. She supervises the Development Specialists supporting key initiatives across Southeast Ohio. Her portfolio includes leadership and oversight of the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), OneOhio, Economic Development Administration (EDA), Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), and Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC). She also oversees Buckeye Hills’ Housing Coordinator, who administers the home modification program for the Area Agency on Aging.

Michelle holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Washington State College of Ohio. She resides in Parkersburg, West Virginia, with her husband and son.
