Description
The Ohio History Connection created the Ohio History Fund competitive matching grant program to address the tremendous need for funding for local, regional, and statewide projects, programs, and events that preserve and share our state’s history.
Eligible projects fall into one of three grant categories:
- Brick & Mortar: rehabilitation, restoration, protection, or acquisition of historic properties and archaeological sites listed in the National Register of Historic Places; building work or construction directly related to the preservation of historical or archival collections
- $2,000 to $20,000
- Match Requirement = 60/40
- Organizational Development: focus on building capacity; providing training and materials to help historical societies and organizations help themselves
- $1,000 to $4,000
- Match Requirement = 80/20
- Programs & Collections: projects that further the study, recording, interpretation, publication, and dissemination of historical information, engagement of communities in history, or preservation of historical collections and archives
- $2,000 to $20,000
- Match Requirement = 60/40
History Fund grants are competitive and require matching funds, goods, and/or services from recipients.
