Buckeye Hills Regional Council and Ohio Department of Transportation/DriveOhio are hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Buckeye Hills offices located at 1400 Pike Street, in Marietta. At this meeting, ODOT will present their draft statewide plan for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and gather input from local stakeholders.
Ohio is developing its deployment plan as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) makes a historic investment in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure throughout the nation. The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program enacted with the BIL will establish a nationwide network of EV chargers that support access and reliability for all users.
Ohio will receive over $100 million across the next five years for Direct Current (DC) Fast chargers to be installed along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors. Working with a broad coalition of stakeholders and partners, DriveOhio and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) are developing a statewide EV strategy to unlock federal NEVI Formula Program funds.
The draft Ohio NEVI Program plan and candidate charging locations are available for review and public comment on the DriveOhio website: Ohio Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment Plan
Public stakeholders can also review and submit comments about candidate charging locations that comply with the NEVI guidelines: Candidate EV Charging Locations
Additional EV charging resources can be found at drive.ohio.gov/electric.
