Steve Patterson has served as Mayor of Athens since 2016 and is a longtime advocate for regional collaboration and community development. A retired U.S. Air Force Major and former Ohio University professor, he brings decades of leadership in public service, higher education, and local government. Mayor Patterson serves on the Buckeye Hills Regional Council Executive Committee, where he works with regional partners to advance economic development, infrastructure, and quality-of-life initiatives across southeastern Ohio.
