Buckeye Hills Regional Council (BHRC) invites residents, caregivers, service providers, and community partners to participate in a public hearing on the agency’s draft 2027-2030 Strategic Area Plan update.
The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buckeye Hills Regional Council office, located at 2585 Glendale Road, Marietta, Ohio.
The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the draft of the plan, including:
- A waiver request for Older Americans Act Title III-D funds to support health promotion and disease prevention programs (approximately $20,000)
- Strategic Area Plan goals and outcomes for 2027-2030
BHRC encourages participation from residents and stakeholders throughout Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry, and Washington counties.
As the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) serving the eight-county region, BHRC helps communities and individuals plan and prepare for long-term care needs. The Older Americans Act of 1965 established the nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging and requires each agency to develop a Strategic Area Plan to guide the delivery of coordinated services that meet the needs of older adults and their caregivers.
The draft of the 2027-2030 Strategic Area Plan is available for public review here.
Those unable to attend the public hearing may submit comments in writing to Janie Collins, Program Development Coordinator, by email at jcollins@buckeyehills.org or by mail to:
