The advisory group for Buckeye Hills Forward: A Regional Economic will have its first meeting at Buckeye Hills Regional Council, 1400 Pike Street in Marietta, on Thursday, February 1, at 12:00 pm.
As an Economic Development District designated by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, Buckeye Hills Regional Council is responsible for updating the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) every five years. The next update is due by 2025. This update, titled Buckeye Hills Forward: A Regional Economic Plan, will lay a clear path forward for economic development activities in the region, formulated by members of communities in the following counties: Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry, and Washington. Activities regarding workforce, housing, outdoor recreation, and education are examples of potential areas of development to be explored within the strategy.
